One look at these photos and you know this motorcycle is in the concept stage as I cannot remember seeing any of these on the road.
This is the SunRed solar-powered motorcycle that won the Best Innovative Technology award at the Barcelona Int’l Auto Show, this does look pretty cool and anything that is good to the environment and can be classed as gadget or latest technology is good in my books.
We have seen a lot of action in memory cards development in the past year. With every passing month there was an enhancement in the storage devices making them cheaper, faster and more bigger. But CES 2009 brings an amazing surprise and a dramatic improvement in the field of portable storage. The new specification of memory cards known as SDXC eXtended Capacity) can store hundreds of gigs of data on a single card.
The SDXC cards are capable of holding a massive 2TB (2048GB) of Data on a single card and currently these cards can transfer data at 104 MB per second but the team has a roadmap to raise it to 300MB per second. This is a major step in the development of storage devices and it is irresistible to see such huge amount of data in such a tiny space.
This gives birth to unlimited possibilities in portable devices. The upcoming HD technology requires huge storage space and these SDXC card will act as a perfect combo with the HD camcorders. It will also let you store thousands of pictures, photos, etc. on your digital camera which means forget about transferring the pictures to a PC. It will also turn your mobile into your personal portable media center as you can carry huge amount of data, pictures, files, music, video, etc with you.
I am sure this technology will kick start the Tera-Byte era once this technology is fully developed. This SDXC technology is being showcased at CES 2009 and SDXC cards are expected to launch sometime later this year.
Many people think Should I buy a laptop or a desktop?. Information technology is not only advancing at a great pace but it is making lives better. We have been using desktops since 1940 when the first computer was invented. However, the increasing dependence on computers has given an impetus to develop more advanced computers like laptops or notebooks. Nowadays laptops are gaining ground these days due to its portability.
According to the market research firm Current Analysis, laptops sales increase by ed for 53 per cent of the total personal computer market, up from 46 per cent during the same period last year. Due to its demand, companies have reduced prices and improved the quality of laptop. As compare to desktop price, laptop prices have come down 17 per cent during the last year while desktop price has dipped only 4 per cent. The reasons for this laptops are portable, easy to maintain, longer batteries, Wireless capability and many more features. xtra battery – optional but would be recommended. One of the major problems of laptop users is battery life. Especially when these batteries have been used for a long time, batter life span turns to be somewhat unreliable. So battery backups is a good idea. Extra battery – optional but would be recommended. Especially when these batteries have been used for a long time, batter life span turns to be somewhat unreliable. So that’s why battery backups is a good idea. In laptops we can use external drives, sometimes our drives are full, in that case external hard drives for storage purposes, or an external DVD writer to burn files. There are a lot of other accessories that could make your laptop even better. Some are needed, some are optional. Just browse computer stores, you would be finding external fans, laptop cleaners, etc. You’ve purchased a lot for your laptop, why not spend a few more to make it better.
What is the difference between the laptops and desktops?
Generally, desktop usually come with a vertical chassis, which typically sits on the floor under a desk. A monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers are all attached to the tower (CPU) separately. Its very difficult to maintain.
On the other hand, Laptops are small, battery-powered, lightweight (1-3 kg) and ideal for those who require portability, like business people who travel or students who could then easily move from one place to another place. In laptops, we have many features like we have DVD player, laptops can also be used as portable entertainment systems. In laptops all accessories are integrated (mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc) but external ones may be attached, as well. The prices for these accessories are same for both laptop and desktop PCs or may little bit difference.
Nowadays laptops come equipped with integrated wireless networking features (like Intel Centrino mobile technology) so that users can use high-speed internet connection anywhere. Desktop computers usually come with a wired network card, but wireless cards can be purchased.
Are the components in these two computers similar?
There are little bit differences, Laptops usually have liquid crystal displays and smaller SO-DIMM (Small Outline DIMM) chips for their RAM. In addition to a built-in keyboard, they may utilise a touchpad (also known as a trackpad) or a pointing stick for input, though an external mouse or keyboard can usually be attached.
They both have basis components like:
* Mass Storage
* Removable storage
Can laptops be repaired and upgraded?
Desktop computer are easier to upgrade, as compare to laptops components.
In desktop computers, users can easily swap components like sound cards and modems. RAM, a bigger hard drive, or a new DVD drive is also easy to add to a desktop computer. In desktop computer we can add new monitor, like a 21-inch screen from a 15-inch screen, or a flat-panel LCD display from a bulky CRT monitor.
But in laptops, its not possible to change screen, yes we can change other devices like CD-ROM, RAM, we can add additional speakers, we can repair both desktop or laptops.
